General Start the wave!

General Start the wave!

I wave too and / or flash (my head lights, not me personally) but people round here just give me that look as if I'm some kind of escaped mental patient.

I've come from a background of original mini owning where everyone acknowledged each other so it's a shame really.

I wonder if you were the 500 that nearly made my other half crash in Middlewich a few weeks back. He thought it was me :D

I used to wave/flash when I had a Mini for a year but haven't since I got Luigi. My other half did wiggle Luigi's bottom at another black 500 (maybe that was you too?) and tends to do more flashing. Since having a red 500 flash at me the other week, I remembered what a good feeling it was to swap waves and flashes so I've resolved to flash every 500 I see (including BSM learners on lessons ;)) from now!

I passed another NOB on the A23 today and so I looked at them and smiled and waved as I went past. They looked a bit shocked. I was past them before I could see whether they "got" it or just thought I was a nutty woman!

Here in Australia, i'd be lucky to see a 500 every 2-3 months. Even then its usually the same one. If i see another 500 ill toot my horn at them, bit of a wave, and they'll wave back. It's nothing much in reality but it just makes you feel noticed.

There was a small gathering of 500's at the Grand Prix in Melbourne this year, is their some sort of local club?

The fiat club of victoria organised it. I was gonna put my car there with the other 2 or 3 500s but i ended up not because i got no word back on how vandalism is dealt with etc etc.

I'm part of the club, but like, day to day driving, i wont see them. haha

I actually saw the 500 in the flesh for the first time at Albert Park 2-3 years ago when they used them for the "celeb" race. I wonder what happened to all of those cars?

they got sold off to people. They came with everything as well (like roll cages, springs, etc). I usually see most of them at the Fiat Club Meets. They still run around town with all the stickers applied. Although due to road regulations the exhausts are illegal (but are still given to the customer). Its pretty interesting because on the interior, you can see cut outs for the roll cage and all.
