Hello everyone,

I'm new here and i really need your opinion! I just sold my car, a VW New Beetle Convertible 1.4! I have to admit that living in Greece these days and trying to sell a car is a really hard procedure (economic crisis-low buying power). It's important to note that i had been waiting for 7 months in order to sell it. I'm planning to buy a Fiat 500 1,2. I had a car with character so i want my next one to have one too plus i love the retro style.

I visited the dealership yesterday for the second time and got an offer. Before placing my order it's important to decide on the color. I definitely want a lounge edition with the ivory ambiance and the black checquered seats. My beetle was white with a total black interior and i really want to avoid these colors. So, i have seen both colors (volare blue and electroclash grey) and the truth is that i like the second one more but there was one in the dealership with the ivory ambiance and i don't think that it's a good combination. I was considering choosing the leather option but i ensure you that it's not a good choice. My beetle had leather seats and the hot weather of Greece turns this choice into a nightmare.

These are the extras i have chosen:

16" multispoke alloy wheels
side rubbing strip with 500 logo
auto clima control
leather geargnob
electric sunroof!

I really need your opinion :)

I forgot to mention that the sales rep. offered me for free the alarm and parking sensors.

If you are dead set on your interior of the ivory ambiance and the black checquered seats, but you don't think it will go well with the electroclash grey, then look at widening your paint colour choices. I think pasodoble red is one of the best colours and would go very well with any interior.

I do like the electroclash grey though, but then I am biased as that is my colour:)

I like pasodoble and especially ragamuffin red but i see them everywhere! it's very common :p Regarding the light color option this is why i'm thinking about ordering volare blue

I think the Volare is really really nice and suits the 500. My only reason for not choosing it would be concern that it will become too popular (which makes me stupid as mine is BNW - as are 90% of UK 500's). But if Volare blue is not a "free" colour where you are, it should not dominate things, and I would choose it. It also goes very well with the ivory/chequer combination in my opinion.

Having said that, as Maxi says, choose what you like. No colour is wrong. Actually I will qualify that statement: silver is wrong. In my opinion, obviously....

Same thing here, preds and bnws everywhere! I have seen a few vbs but it's not that common, as you mentioned it may be in the future! I really don't know :S !

I quite agree. Silver is just wrong wrong wrong. IMO obviously ;)

I don't know if in the UK the ye-ye green and cha cha azzure are still an option but in Greece they are not available anymore. If one of these two was available things would be easier for me

My vote out of those two colurs goes to Volare Blue, but personally I'd choose Tech House Grey - I saw one the other day and it looks stunning in the flesh.

I personally don't think that the metallic colours like Electroclash suit the 500, but as other posters have said it's your money and your choice!

What really concerns me about volare blue is the shade changing. Harsh light blue during a sunny day and pastel kind of baby blue during a rainy day.

Hello, i bought the fiat 500 electroclash grey in Greece! Are you buying yours from Spicar? If i were you i would not get the alarm and parking sensors there is no need to, what i did was get the stereo system instead or negotiate for an extra! I bought mine from pazaropoulos.

I have seen about 5 electroclash greys in Greece and for me they look much better than volare blue. I think some people just got volare blue to showoff that it is a brand new color!

By the way I have leather seats in Greece and its just fine. There is this invention called Air Conditioning that makes it just fine = )

You leave your air con on when you leave the car parked up in the sun?

Ah yes, in that case there are also things called trees which create a phenomenon called shade. Now if you park in the middle of the sahara desert in the dunes, well then you can use those aluminum foil things!

I have never had an issue with leather seats in the summer in Greece!

Well I guess all that sun probably makes your legs leathery too, unlike my baby soft skin...

Wearing pants when you get in the car tends to help :p Ahmett, what colour leather do have? I have red leather and I never find it too hot tbh.

I will get mine from Tsokas because it's near where I live. The matter of the fact is that i'm bored of leather. And this is true, you can't stand the heat when you enter the car during a hot summer day. And you should keep in your mind that i'm a woman wearing dresses and shorts during summer time and it feels like burning hell when my skin comes in contact with the leather seats. I'm not interested for the stereo system at all, i'm going to Athens 4 times per week and i consider the alarm very useful. The parking sensors was just something that the sale rep offered and i said why not? I used to drive a longer and wider car (vw new beetle) without the sensors and i didn't have any parking problems. But as far as it's for free why should i say no?

We have no shade at all in our driveway for most of the day and my leather seats got very hot on my back the other week when we were having our "indian summer in october" :)

Regards to colour = it's your choice so go for what you like ;) I'm in the volare blue corner but I saw an electroclash the other day and it's not a bad colour!
