What model, engines Series, CC etc.
What and where were the wires that got damaged.
Is it a basic OBD code reader or MES or even a more professional Garage one? Reason being cheap versions don't show all codes.
If it was the twisted pair of Can Bus High and Low wires I have read that particular detail needs following, to repair them and if not sure you need to read up about it.:)

Engine is 2.0 multi jet 120 diesel with 6 speed manual, Wires damaged were above right front door,
Have tried a couple of different readers on it,
Know one in Perth wants to touch it other than Fiat dealer which will cost a fortune
Thanks

Sounds like a similar engine to the one in my 2010 Fiat Scudo (Peugeot based).
Which incidently MES doesn't recognise, where as MaxiECU scan tool does if trying to read error codes from cars computer.

More to what I mentioned about Can Bus , does this sound familiar?
"CAN is generally wired with yellow and green wire with yellow acting as the CAN-High and green as the CAN-Low signals."
Note. I just looked online and it says Fiat Can bus colours are pink/black and pink /white, so if those were the wires damaged and were two wires twisted together in the loom but all the other wires just lay together then they do have to be repaired in a certain way!

Thanks heaps for the help
It was a combination of the Can Bus wiring
and a blown fuse after checking every one with a multimeter.
My girls up and running again
Thanks again Bugsymike
