Did you check what injector pump it has as I mentioned to you previously, it is possibly there is no primer in the fuel tank, also it will not effect the immobiliser if you work on tank unit.

Thanks not sure i read your other reply I'm struggling with how this system works.whats my choice of pump thinks it's says luk8

Yes 1868 cc 2003 non turbo and I'm sure it says Lucas on top of pump and yes I've found your reply thanks.im getting fuel up to pump and now bleed air out but still need a splash of brake cleaner to start

That pump was pretty hideous as it was a version in between the old simple injector pumps and the immobilsed common rail; versions.
I did download a instruction manual on the pump at the time but I can't easily find it now, sorry.
If you do a search online for the Lucas Epic injector pump you should find more details.
If you are 100% sure you have a good fuel supply at the injector pump then it may be an immobiliser issue, are the keys you have the correct ones for that pump/engine?
When you use a "splash of brake cleaner to start" do you mean it then runs fine or stops when brake cleaner runs out?

Stops when brake cleaner runs out

Stops when brake cleaner runs out
OK , so I would put a pipe from a five litre can of diesel on the wing of the vehicle directly to the Lucas Epic pump , crank the engine with a little "easy start" and if all else good it should suck the fuel into the pump and engine run without any further east start until the can runs out which is quite soon as there is no return pipe from injectors etc.;).
This is what I mentioned before as a test.
Re the one I had that was drawing air from the pipe connections at the fuel tank.
If it doesn't start then you have issues with the Lucas Epic pump, either immobiliser or faulty pump.
