General Usb port

Hi all , just bought my daughter an Apple Carplay adapter, plugs in the usb port just behind the cup holders in the centre console , I unlocked the car and plugged it in and was shocked to find the port was live !! ( Key still in my pocket ) I'm wondering now if this adapter will remain turned on all the time the car is parked up .... Thanks

Hello,

If the port is powered on all the time, the adapter will, too. And it means some battery draining

Check the owner's handbook, perhaps there's an option to switch that power off when the ignition is not on.

It wouldn't surprise me if it powers up when unlocked, sit in the car, lock it and see what happens after 30 seconds

It might stay live as long as the radio stays on (20 minutes) on ignition off.
