Technical Tyre Pressure?

Technical Tyre Pressure?

Hey matey
On my 08 Panda Eleganza when you open the drivers door there is a sticker telling you which model and engine you have on the door pillar - pretty sure it tells me the tyre pressure as well. (y)

Don't think mine has a sticker, but it's definitely in the handbook. If you don't have one I'll check mine tonight and post up....

Chris

Tyre pressures for the 1.1 Active with a normal load are 29 psi at the front but 26 psi at the rear. I don't have figures to hand for a fully laden car. The spare should be inflated to 40.5 psi.
Beware of on-line tyre pressure readings, they can be inaccurate especially for less common examples of a car. They are almost invariably wrong for my Panda 4x4 for example.

I've tried them for my Panda, Fabia and my other half's 106 and when I've checked the hand book they're correct - they use your reg so they obviously have to source your details from somewhere

The reg. gives them the details of the car from the DVLA database.
If I check my Panda 4x4 on the Kwikfit search it assumes that the car is fitted with the tyres found on the base 4x4, only found on mainland Europe, rather than the wider tyres as fitted to the Climbing variant.
In addition, all Pandas should have the front tyres inflated to a higher pressure than the rears unless fully laden, as the front is where most of the weight of the car is found, ie engine, transmission, driver. The Kwikfit site ignores this and gives the same pressure for all 4 tyres.
OK, it's not a matter of life and death. In fact, if the tyre pressures are roughly right then it is more important that the 2 tyres on one axle are at the same pressure than that the absolute figures are spot on. However, a specialist fitter of tyres should be providing the best and most comprehensive advice.

Gets the figures wrong for my Panda 4x4, my daughter's 1.1 Active, my other daughter's Corsa. Is nearly right for my wife's Honda Jazz, fronts correct, rears 1 psi out. Is correct for the Cinquecento we've just sold.

I don't get any figures for mine, just a blank section. It can find the reg though as if I put a bad one in it tells me the car can't be found in the database. Is anyone else using Firefox 3.0?

Chris

I'm using Firefox and get the readings displaying no bother.
What a sad git I'm becoming where I have an encyclopaedic knowledge of car tyre pressures. I must make a mental note to get our more often. Now, when is the next bus-spotters' or Star Trek convention!
:)

Interestingly it works for the reg's of previous cars just not the Panda. Oh well :ROFLMAO:

Chris

Checked the pressures on the GF's new acquisition last night - 31.5 in the fronts and 28ish in the rears !

I've yet to pick up any car from a dealership, of any manufacturer, and the pressures be correct - no wonder the ride felt a bit jiggly ! Much better this morning :D

taken from panda handbook.
pressures for all petrol versions for cold tyres

medium load ***13"steels & 14"alloys front-2.0bar rear-1.8bar
full load***13"steels & 14"alloys front-2.2bar rear-2.2bar

diesel version is different pressures from above.
rear is all same as above.
medium load front-2.2bar rear-1.8bar
full load frot-2.3bar rear-2.2bar

space saver 2.8bar

HOPE THIS HELPS ALL!!! SORRY NOT IN PSI
DONT GO BY WEBSITE PRESSURE AS NORMALLY WRONG!!

For PANDA100HP?
I have 28psi front and 26 back.Is it right?
When i bought it the pressure was 32 frond and back, too.

Should be 2.2 bar (32 psi) front, 2.1 bar (30 psi) rear .... assuming the up to 3 people settings....
