General Twinair Eco Button.

When you switch eco off you will only feel extra acceleration when you put foot down.
I have twin air with different problem, eco button when turned off (it should take off like a scolded cat) simply cruises on with no difference to acceleration.Turbo has been reconditioned so ?. Any clever mechanics out there to help?
Hi Hilzee, Did you ever get the issue resolved with regards your Eco Button, I am experiencing the exact same issues as yourself and everyone is just scratching their heads and thinking of possible solutions. Don't get me wrong, the help on here is 1st class. But unless someone can put a finger straight on the issue,a lot of guesswork comes into the equation. I am trying everyone's suggestions for which I am truly thankful. Cheers..... Jimbo.

I’ve just found I have the same problem - also the stop/start and engine management light came on and I had a P0299 code which I cleared down and it hasn’t returned yet (2 days)
I have taken the engine cover off and the actuator rod is nice and clean and moves freely, there is some play but the nut and bolts on the turbo cover are too rusty to allow a Quick Look and see if it’s gone oval.
With the ECO off, I can see the actuator rod moving a centimetre or so - with it on, it doesn’t move which I assume is correct. There are no obvious leaks in the piping but I’ve not had chance to check it all.
If I find anything I’ll let you know, any more hints and tips gratefully accepted.

I had everyone scratching their heads when I had my issue, as everything being checked appeared fine, My buddy at work plugged in his OBD reader and it was stating there was an issue with a Sensor on the Turbo, One of my other Buddies who is a mechanic nipped into mine after I got home from work to show me where the sensor was, and within a few seconds of opening the Bonnet he'd pointed out the sensor and then said, "But that's not the Issue, that is!!! as he put his hand down behind the Radiator and lifted a hose out, he put the hose back on and said, I guarantee it'll run better now, How did you notice that I asked? He said he noticed that a Jubilee had been round that part of the pipe lately pipe back on and the problem was sorted

Thank you, any clues to the hose identity and exact location please?

Ah yes, I can feel the split underneath at the front of the car, thank you so much
What a bugger that was to change!

Those weird Italian non-jubilee clips were a challenge, especially as they were not at the correct angle to squeeze a screwdriver in to loosen the flaps.

This guide was really useful to understand how they worked - not sure it was who posted but thank you!

Anyways, pipe and clips £16.99 via Amazon, came in 2 days really impressed, only a few chunks out of hands and the stabbed rat is back :)

Thanks everyone!

Funny, How much of a difference you notice Johny lol. Now that mine is running properly after putting the hose back on, I still tend to keep mine in Eco mode in the Towns, incse of suddenly realising I'm doing 50 in a 40 or 40 in a 30 . Not forgetting most of the villages are now 20 zones. I've also noticed my fuel economy has improved slightly after getting my hose properly fitted.
