What do you think? I am half tempted by the temperature one but not sure how I would attach to the wire, also worried it might count as a mod in terms of insurance.

There is also teh bluetooth hands free kit, again I am not sure if I would want to take any calls when driving so don't think I will bother.

Even the CD player might be ok as it would add MP3 and it has an AUX socket, but I would rather keep the original one, at least it is a decent brand.

Out of that lot I will buy the boot organiser and possibly the 1kg ABC Powder Fire Extinguisher although I don't know of a single Panda which has burnt into flames.

Again sorry for the title, it is just the 100HP has nearly everything on this page as standard, and the Active dosn't

It is actually the remote locking I miss most of all or in truth just a lock on the passanger side!.

I imagine that CD player is crap too, the cheap ones seem to have buffer issues where they will jump if you go over speed bumps, apart from being basic and the sound quality not been great the standard Active CD player is great for what it is.

Because the Panda is about the only car (other than C1 etc) not to have that stuff as standard

I like the temperature gauge and fitted one to my previous Panda.
Attach it to the dashboard with sticky velcro pads so it can be easily removed.
Run the wire behind the dashboard and out of the door under the door seal. Attach the sensor to the inner front wing below the lower door hinge.
I'm being a bit vague as I can't remember exactly how it went on the last Panda and it's too dark to go and have a look at the Cross.

Can't fault their extingushers. Fit really well with their holder which is nice and sturdy.

I have become a Lidl convert over the last year or so. Our son's school is located close-by and parents are encouraged to park at the supermarket and walk the remaining distance to avoid congestion around the school. Therefore, I buy most of our food shopping from there as it saves additional journeys.

Being a German company, most [possibly all?] of the electrical products, power tools, etc. are TUV-approved [like the UK British Standard but higher, from what I've read].

Whilst the Bluetooth handsfree kit, CD-player, etc. may not be top-of-the-range, they offer plenty of features and good value-for-money.

If I needed the above, I would be happy to give Lidl's products a try

I had the temp guage is pretty crap
I had one in my Sei and it was no-where near accurate. When i sold the car i put the temp guage in a cupboard and it kept beeping, it wouldn't let me take the battery out.. so it didn't last long!

The temp gauge is not very accurate because you cannot mount the sensor either at the front of the car or within the mirror housing, which is where most in-built sensors are to be found. Hence it cannot read the exact outside air temperature accurately.
If mounted in contact with an external panel, sunshine falling on the panel will give a much higher reading than the actual air temperature.
If anyone has any suggestions for mounting the sensor, where it is within the outside airflow but not exposed, please let me know.

Decided not to bother with the temperature display because I can't see anyway of fitting it without hacking the car.

One modification I may make if I keep the car long enough is to replace the standard head unit with the one from the higher spec cars. Mainly because there are still screw driver marks on it when some druggy tried to knick it.

If I keep it long enough I may also get some wheels on a 100hp too or other standard FIAT alloys which will fit, all this is only if I decide to keep it for ever though

Atm I can barely afford the loan payments because the insurance is killing me.

Because the Sei was so short, i had it running from the top of the dash all the way to the back and out of the rear light cluster

Dad's got his (in the Picanto) from the dash, out and down into the front wing.

I picked up the temperature gauge yesterday, but have no idea where to put it in the car, at the mo it is in the house with the sensor out the window to see how well it works. It has a nice long lead, so there must be somewhere it'll go without making any holes in my lovely car?

Well, the standard place for a Panda that has the temp guage as standard is in the LHS wing mirror (RHD car, don't know about LHD models). So maybe, prizing off the interior side of the wing mirror mount you may also be able to place it in there, with VERY clever placing and length of the wiring provided. I can't see it being long enough for the Panda to do what i did with my old Sei. Off the top of my head i'm not sure if there's room for it to be placed through the wing and out and connected somewhere else to be of any accuracy..

It claims to have 3 meters of cable, not that I've checked. I'm a little reluctant to try prising anything off really, I'm not exactly good at that sort of thing and it is still very new! Maybe I'll just wait till it's a bit older!
