Technical Turbo'ing Burple!

There is blanked off sensor port in the exhaust, so I was thinking of using that.

I have found out that Dastek are OK, if you import the right operator. But the costs are quite high.

However, if it saves the engine going bang, it will be money well spent.

Will find out more.

Cheers

aye theres no going back ... weve come so far, im not planning on blowing it up now!
but will she get on the rollers? :(

Sone dyno's bolt directly to the wheel hub with the wheel removed. There's one near me like that, should go on fine then.

Affter market is SO much better, becuase with an MF2, the spark advance is all wrong, as it only tricks the ECU into seeing atmosphere. On boost, it's normally better to retard the ignition. OF course it can't be that far advanced else all the turbo tubs would have blown on boost, but there is a far increased risk!

i thought about aftermarket ecu's before, i know nothing about it though so its all a bit scarey

Thing is a complete stand alone is just not necessary these days and piggyback and parallel installation are a much more common option, I'm sure we've had this debate before

The MF2 is actually quite reliable at supplying fuel and is capable of a lot more than is used in Cento installations. If you want to change the timing on boost all you need is an on boost timing controller there are loads of them out there, on my MX-5 I use a J&S ultra safeguard here which retards the timing on boost and has individual cylinder knock control. second hand these and other similar pieces of kit such as MSD's are quite reasonable

Doing something like this is much less hassel and to be honest a safer alternative than blindly going into something such as magaburp, you only have to look at other forums to see that all after market FI conversions have the same problems as turbo cento's and that there are lots of different solutions out there.

main reason piggy back are getting more common is due to all the electronic tat that fills all new cars. but stand alone is also getting more common where it is fitted along side the standard ecu and feeds the standard ecu the tat is wants to see while taking control over everything else (means all the CAN-BUS and interior stuff works fine but allowing 100% control over the engine)

at the end of the day no piggy back will beat a stand alone ecu specifically built and tuned to what you need when it comes to getting the most from the engine and car.

Nah its nothing bad, just want it to be perfect, and as david says, certainly dont want it to get worse.Hopefully gonna spray it underneath too :D

Once ive got that done il be saving the pennies to get the turbo kit set up properly.

I think the word "Burple" will be cut out of his vocabulary. Anyone who tries to mention that word will have no tongue ;)

I would like the underside of mine cleaned, petrol and oil everywhere, granted it is preventing rust but I would like it nice for when I have my head under there again.

Oil and hair do not mix....

Thanks
