Technical Tipo exterior temp sensor (passenger side)

a fiat dealership has told me that the reason why my engine light is on, my start stop and my cruise control isn’t working, is due to the temperature sensor which is located in the passenger side wing mirror. I’ve purchased 3 sensors off eBay and have had each one fitted. They’re all reading the wrong temperature. The fiat dealership says that they’re waiting on a passenger side wing mirror to be manufactured, but doesn’t know when that’ll be. Has anybody ever had this issue? And if so… any advice
