We have bought our second Tipo 1.6ie SX and while driving it
tends to jerk as if it is mis-firing on the odd occassion. After about half an hour the injection malfunction light comes on, so I stop the engine and start the engine again and the injection malfunction light goes out.
Can anybody advise me on the steps I need to take to get rid of this problem please??[?]

there could be several causes for that but I would check first lambda sensor, and also all electrical things... And, exhaust test could tell something about the prob.

Thanks Skywriter
Had the lambda sensor checked, it was OK.
The temperature sensor mounted on the engine block was also ok.
The thermostat was stuck open, so the car was never getting to temparature thus the engine management system was getting the wrong signals, so I had the thermostat replaced and the car now runs at the good temperature approx. 90degreesC.
But it was still jerking and stalling, so I had the spark plugs and air filter changed, but it made no difference.
Then finally when I visited the garage the mechanic noticed that the two small pipes (one for cold air and one for the warm air) heat sensors connected to the air filter box and to the injection on top of the engine were both split and broken and due to this the injection system was not getting the correct signals and this had resulted in the car sometimes stalling and jerking while driving. These two very small pipes were replaced and the car now drives fine. So if anyone else has the same problem follow the steps above, and it is not expensive to do.
