Technical Timing belt + Water pump - Grande Punto 1.2 (2008) Guides/Help?

It’s been quite a while since I’ve logged on here, I used to own a 1.9 Mjet and my other half has a GP 1.2 Active (2008).

I am looking to complete the Timing Belt + Water pump job myself and was told the engine is non-intrusive, so this should give me a little reassurance; although local mechanic doesn’t agree…

I’ve seen a few videos on YT but wanted to see if anyone here has done this and if so, did you follow a video OR did you have a guide?

The local garage provided me with a printout which helps a little, any advice is appreciated.

Should I also change the alternator/drive belt, as it’s squealing, although I read that could be a bearing issue.

The 2008 Grande Punto 1.2L engine is non interference, so you can go wrong, but it won't damage the engine.

You're better off using youtube for example this video;



Its not that there's anything wrong with textbook explanations, but they can miss a lot and its usually better to watch.
