Things i have done to the outside include : -

16'' ST24 alloys wrapped in 205/50/16 rubber

I have fitted an ST24 grille to replace the standard one so BEFORE

Taking a page from the stilo massive for the boot plinth Using Mondeo MK3 badges ;)

Under the bonnet i have fitted a BOMZ (our equivalent to GSR etc) induction kit and a 2.0 TB so sounds and goes like stink early in the rev range!

Inside i have done the most changes. This was the interior before

This is it now

I have fitted

ST 24 dash
ST24 heater control panels and headlight panels
Lockwood dials (shine blue at night)
Some of switches converted so they shine blue at night rather than the ford green (will take night photo later :))
ST24 Gearknob

I currently have waiting to be fitted some bonnet lifters and some engine bling. On the mondeo forum we have a guy who fabricates engine part coverings out of chrome metal which you put over the top of some parts e.g slam panel, battery, strut tops to name a few parts. This just makes it a bit more showy.

Nowhere near finished also

I would also like to add that the only new items were the dials and the induction kit. Everything else is second hand :)

Comments, opinions and grumbles welcome (y) Give me credit for trying to turn a bit of a bland car into something different :D
whats wrong with it?

Nothing mechanically really, pretty sweet and only at 95k! (not even run in)

Just cosmetically it needs a bit of tidying (corrosion starting to show mainly) and i think the PAS pump is on the way out (scrappy part though for that)

my cousin's has just done over 280k miles :D

thats a dirty diesel though :p

all he had to do to it major work wise last year was - nowt ;), he just regassed the air con in it

what about the year before that.....and before that ;)

little bits and pieces just to get it through its mot.

its a well looked after car. had 120k on it when he bought it about 5 or 6 years ago, and he just uses it as the main long journey car now as his ST isnt to good on juice.

Its picked up all the usual knocks and bumps on the outside, and the seats are a little bit soft and squidgy :D

im not a fan of fords, but our mondy v6 has been the most reliable car we have ever had:worship::worship: never put shocks or owt on it, only bad thing was the exhaust.
s reg done 160k, got ford oxide but still going strong :slayer:

I had rust at wheel arches & petrol flap, also door frames.

Is pump noisy? (normal as ford yet top make decent PS pump) but if system is leaking check pipes behind drivers wheel as bad for corroding, mine did & pipes were £115 (with discount)

Thats all the places mine is going at apart from the door frames they are solid.

The pump is noisy but doesnt leak as steering is still very responsive and no puddles etc on engine or on floor. Its been like it for months.

Just need to change the pump scrappy part and it should be ok.

Its going back on steelies as can get more for wheels seperate.

Same with all ST24 interior bits

Tempted to leave the induction kit on as its a pain to remove and it will make it a bit different for potential customer ( a polish person probably) same with the LED lights and bulbs that are in it.

De modding continues.

Sold a few bits on mondeo forum (engine bling mainly) majority will be ebayed in due course, one major spare part on ebay as we speak

Finding it hard to find the right focus as well. Thought it would be easy, admittedly plenty out there, but none that i feel is worth it. I am being anal and want a certain spec, age and mileage. A lovely one went through ebay dead cheap which was only 5 mins down the road but missed it!

Need to sort one pronto though!

wow i had exactly the same problem. its strange because other fords seem to be priced relatively lower than the focus, but i guess that reflects how popular it is. it lead to me buying a bravo instead, and to be honest i dont regret it. get yourself a 2000/2001 bravo hgt or hlx, absolute bargain and a really good chassis.

Want something newer than that im afraid a minimum of a '52' plate so the bravo/a is ruled out i think, although never been keen on the original bravo/a, the HGT is too thirsty.

Why would i want a really good chassis when i could have the best in the class?
