The FS Birthday Weekender

The punto got cleaned inside and out yesterday and is now in the garage getting new tyres, brake pads and other stuff to keep it healthy and happy. I'm half expecting a sarcastic comment from them about not being able to find it in the car park because they were looking for a brown car and got confused by the red one

I should be leaving here some time after 5 to start my road trip :D

well cars all prepped tank full cleaned inside and out and looking smart guys seeing I have the bairn with me tomw I may skip the applecross and head straight to inverness once we leave fort William the easy route and meet up once everyone arrives for dinner see you all tomw at morrisions for the fun a head

No worries Andy and we'll see you tomorrow.

Just heard the punto is ready to be collected from the garage. I'm excited about the road trip - wonder if that will diminish when I see my bill....

Nah :D

Safely in Kingussie for the night :D

There were a few dead deer on the road and I spotted a few live ones off road too so drive safely tomorrow folks and I'll see you in Fort William

Panda is fulled and filled. Just my overnight stock and laptop to pack.

Kettle full for morning cuppa, thermos mug ready. Bedtime soon.

See y'all in Fort William.

PS sat nav has been playing up, but about to hand write my direction notes. Pandy won't be joining us on the Applecross run but will indeed meet us all at night for food. Those who have my/mike/harpers number will receive updates once plans are known.

Heading out shortly folks. I'm just over an hour away so should be there before most. I'll park at the back of the car park and for those of you who don't know my car you're looking out for a red grande punto reg SV59 PPU

See you soon

No wifi at the hotel so it'll be tomorrow night before I can post pictures of today's trip. Had a wee reccy run to Forres earlier with Martin & Martyn so we know where we going & what's happening t'morn

For anyone turning up today...come into forres from inverness side. Follow the road to the point your almost leaving town....theres a lidl on your left and just beyond it youll see a tesco. Take the third exit and follow the road around past tesco. Keep going for a mile or so...straight on through a further two roundabouts. Youll see on your right hand side a big britain in bloom (or similar) plaque. Just beyond that is the entrance to grant park. Swing a right and youll be directed to park....first of all behind the pavilion so that you can pick up your entry pack.

See yall soon

The weekend in numbers for me

First of all from the trip computer

Mileage covered = 468
Travel time = 11 hr 22 minutes
Av Speed = 41 mph (Applecross lowered this quite a bit  )
Avg mpg = 50.8 mpg

And in general

No. of Fiats at Fort William = 4
No. of Fiats at Applecross = 3
No. of Fiats at Forres = 6

Thanks to everyone who attended and who travelled from all over to be there. It was a great weekend and Applecross was lots of fun so good call @abyss113 for suggesting it even if you couldn't sadly make it. Forres was slightly rained out but the show was top notch and thanks to @marti155 for getting us on the list even though we're not really classic cars.
@Seanantasy, is there any chance you could send the photo you took of my grande and Martyn's panda negotiating one of the bends on the Applecross run please. Email it to [email protected] and I'll receive it. Thanks

Absolutely knackered tonight which I'm taking as a good sign I had fun :D

In fact so knackered I forgot to add there is now some photo's in the gallery. Look out for the guest appearance of a celebrity in one of them :D

sounds like you all had fun....sad to miss it, but will see you all at Carnie Farm....
