Hi, I have a 2012 Ducato 130 Max Hitop LWB van that has been converted into a motor home, the data plate shows 3500kg load, it is fitted with single leaf rear spring, would anyone know if a double leaf spring can be fitted? Dont really want to go down the air suspension route, would welcome any comments.

I had extra leaf springs on a 05 Doblo as I wanted to tow more and carry weight. They came from a specialist leaf spring company and included longer U bolts etc. to go around the extra leaves.
If you have a good truck company nearby they may be able to point you to a company that repairs/rebuild commercial leaf springs.
Thing with high top vans is the need for good rear anti roll bars as they tend to sway more, as well as firm springs and shock absorbers.
Single leaf springs for heavy loads can be alright, I had them on Iveco Daily 3.5 tonne vans and they also made up to around 8 tonne I believe vans.
