motorworld and hellfrauds don't stock those types of batteries, all they will stock is normal car batteries or lesuire batteries, neither can come close to comparing with the optimas/red flash/hawker batteries.

My local motorworld sells uprated batteries honestly i can hand down promise you this and they even do a uprated performance ICE handling type battery kit with power cap for £205 cant remember what ampage/wattage it pushes out but its a good one, btw, why dont you use powercpas if you cant find any cheap battery suppliers in your area?

It doesn't solve the problem. It may supply the necessary amps at a given time, but it has to charge back up, which it does off the battery - its defeating the object.

Sorry, i dont think i will post in this thread anymore as i dont sem to be helping :(

Its not that, if you get an idea, like you said with a cap, then by all means post it up. If its wrong, it'll get corrected, and we all learn something :) If it's right, then its all good (y)

If I were you mate Thats what I would do(y)

Because unless you are extremely deaf and have to drive the amp full on all the time you should be okay.

the only other thing I would suggest is to put an isolator switch between the amp and battery.

What does that switch do?

It means you can knock the amp off manually if its drawing too much current off the battery (y)

Couldn't i just unplug the amp my self.. like from the amp connections.. and then just wait to get a cap or a new battery fitted?

You could..............but it'd be much neater using a switch :) Like I said before, you'd be throwing money away if you bought a cap. You don't need one :)

If i needed a new battery, that would cost about £150, would i need to change any other parts because im changing the battery?

It'd be worth doing 'the big three' (do a search to find out exactly what this is - paulbfd did a thread a while ago(y) )

I would check the output of your alternator, but I would guess it would be fine (y)

Make sure your power and speaker cables are of sufficient thickness :)

Decided i would post again

Putting an isolator switch in is a wise choice, it saves time and always looks good beign able to flick it for on or off :D Its so simple too, alot of ppl have remote turn off which in prinicapl is the same thing, but i like to put a switch on the live terminal as well as remote turn on via my headunit (most peoples remote turn on is just a seperate wire from inside the amp that will connect the live terminal ) Haivng a one on the main live wire is kinda unneccesory but I like to know anything i install is as safe as possible, a remote turn on wire does not carry much current, making it safe, but if a live terminal wire is sheared, this is a direct feed off of the battery and can gfround out on bodywork, if this happens then you run the risks of fires or even exploding/melting your battery.

Some peopl may think this far fetched but i think its safer

you can't be too careful when running power wire down the car, I have a fuse within 1ft of the battery and 2x circuit breakers that act as individual isolators for the amps in the boot.

Can you believe there are some Stilo owners running their entire install from the power connector in the boot?

Nice deal (y)

I will put a pic up tomorrow to show you what I am running from a normal battery, you will be alright with your set up as long as you do not hammer it whilst parked up with out the engine for to long.

ok.. so Car audio Centre just phoned me saying the sub is out of stock, so they giving me a amp wiring kit. and a better sub instead :D

So i got the sub, amp, box, wiring kit for £240 :D
inc del :D

Take a look and say what you think.. hope punto battery can handle this

Sub: http://www.caraudiocentre.co.uk/product.asp?product=18615

Amp: http://www.caraudiocentre.co.uk/product.asp?product=19588

I would be inclined to think that the sub will stretch the amp - the amp may put out approx 200WRMS+ less than the sub'll take, which means that the amp may be stretched. Other than that, it seems a fair deal :) That's the only potential problem I can see.

What gauge wiring kit are you getting?
