Hello everyone,

I’m getting the error code P0236-7A on my Fiat Ducato (Type 290), 2.3 Multijet with Marelli 9DF CF6/EOBD Diesel Injection.

No other fault codes are present.

I’ve already read the thread titled “Ducato P0401 P0402 P0236 P0238 and limp mode - it’s a 2017 Euro 6, EGR changed, what do I check next?” but unfortunately didn’t find a solution that matches my issue.

Here’s what I’ve done so far:

• I replaced the MAP sensor, but the error persists.

• I followed the Multiecuscan test suggested by @theoneandonly . However, I’m unsure how reliable it is, since the vehicle is stuck in limp mode, and the fault reappears immediately after being cleared — which means I can’t get meaningful live data, especially from the EGR.

I’ve also cleaned the exhaust pipe, which wasn’t particularly sooty.

Right now, I suspect the issue is related to low boost pressure, but I’m unsure how to confirm that — or how to fix it.

Would it be worth trying to replace the boost control solenoid valve as a next step?

Below, I’ve attached the exact error report from Multiecuscan. If anyone has experience with this issue or can interpret the data, I’d really appreciate your help.

Thanks in advance!

the important point is the Turbo graph which confirms youre idea the Turbo solenoid needs replacing

Ive looked at your csv files and got a few graphs I did have a few bits of agravation with translation so have left out the LPEGR graph.

The others look fine differential DPF sensor OK.

Thank you so much for your detailed answer, @theoneandonly , really appreciate your time! 🙏

I’ll go ahead and order a new replacement boost control solenoid valve and swap it in as soon as it arrives. Hopefully that solves the issue 🤞

Thanks as well to @cyb0r for the suggestion about the vacuum leak, I’ll definitely keep that in mind and consider getting a smoke test done if needed.

Sorry about the graphs being in French, next time I’ll make sure to export them in English to make things easier.

Thanks again for your help!

Should be not problem about being in French other than i couldn't find my translation spreadsheet for multiecuscan
The one thing that struck me about Bienne (I was there in 2011 for work) was the way it was absolutely multilingual shops displaying both French German and English not a problem but the one thing that tickled me was the Cycle shop was all Italian.

Yeah, Bienne really is a multilingual mix, French and German everywhere, and English shows up a lot too. But an all-Italian bike shop? That’s the kind of detail that makes Switzerland unique even if it’s not always easy for the rest of us
