You mean nuts Stu? I have a fair bit of play.

No definately 4 10mm bolts. I'll take a photo next time i'm out.

Thats a genuinely beautiful car Stu. Did you ever find out anymore about the '81' chalked behind the rear bumper

No but I assume its been written there when the car was being built in the factory. I've seen it before on other cars restored.

Oh my God she's gorgeous!!!

Thank you (y)

Pretty, that's a smashing job! :worship:

And thank you again (y)

Sorry guys, I think the paint job is awful so I decided to get it wrapped as I'm getting lazy and thought it would look better.

You all clearly missed my "wrapping" joke :bang:

Anyway, moving on,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,I finally after 3 long years got the last part of the car painted tonight. All I have to do now is flatten the paint on the door (which I'll do once I've hung it back on the car) and buff it up along with the entire inside of the car and then the good bit starts, putting everything back in. Boy isn't it lucky I took lots of photo's when I started stripping it

Still don't think its going to be possible to make the 26th May deadline though.

Well last night was a real pain. It took ages to get the wiring for the dash and the choke cable to fit right and then I couldn't and can't for the life of me find the passenger side Quarterlight window and frame. It should have been in the box with the drivers side, oh but no it wasn't. If I can't find it, I reckon its going to be a real hassle trying to get another. 3 hours work and all I really had to show for it was a cleaned dash parcel shelf. I need to move the car to make way for getting the coupe in to get it ready for mot so the pressures on. Not one of my better nights.

Sorry guys, been doing exams for work so a lot of studying's been going on.
Been tinkering at the car when possible and finally got the carpet and seats cleaned and put back in.

Next week should see the brakes bled, all fluids checked and all being well the engine running for checking over. Its not far away now.

 However I've decided not to keep the car once its finished. I've no real room to hang onto it and my work/family commitments and other restorations is dictating a lot of my time these days which isn't going to change by the look of things. A shame after so much effort to do the car justice, but there you go.

Hi Stuart, was wondering where you had gone. ;)

It's amazing you achieve anything on the Mk1 given all your other commitments :worship:

Some lucky person is going to get a beautiful Panda there!

Yeah shame to sell the little beauty after all that hard graft, but lack of time (and space!) is a problem i'm all too familiar with too.
Hope if you do sell it that it goes to a good home, an enthusiast or maybe even a collection somewhere, the original Guigiaro panda is a design icon (y)
p.s. Did you see the official FIAT motor show launch of the latest Panda?, there was an original red 45 on the stand like yours! I'll try and find photos to upload.

There was indeed a little red MK 1 metal grille Panda on the Fiat stand for the launch of the Panda 3 at Frankfurt Motor Show, below is the link

Plus on YOU TUBE check the footage of the Panda 3 launch at Frankfurt motor show to see the MK 1 on the stand, search "Frankfurt 2011:fiat panda" by aoluk

Maybe it's fiat's own or from a museum, who knows?

It's the Panda mk4 that's just been launched, not the mk3, the mk3 was launched in 2003 (y)

I have a photo of thatlittle Panda sitting up there, Jim sent it to me, but its not that one, I'll add it to the collection, thank you. Scary just how close it looks to mine.(y)

FIAT themselves call it the "3rd generation" panda...confusing

Generation and Mk are similar but different things. You didn't say which you were referring to, and half the time Fiat don't know what they're saying so I wouldn't listen to what they say, I think they've done similar balls ups with the Puntos. :(

Hi guys, just passing through, up to my eyes with other stuff but I crossed another major milestone at 19.17 tonight, After 4years resto I got the Panda running with the help of a mate and its running as sweet as a finely oiled watch.
Just have to get the dash in and the car a good clean and its ready for the mot. I'm nearly there. :woot:

Congratulations, home straight then. Getting me worried though, if 'a good clean' is now an MOT requirement I've had it:eek:
