Technical Strange beeping noise!!

Hi, I have just bought a 59 plate 500 1.2 Sport and have noticed a faint, high pitch beeping noise (electronic sounding) when braking and sometimes on cornering. Has anybody out there come across this? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers.

I have also recently purchased a 1.2 sport 59 plate with exactly the same noise as described above, definately an electronic sound and related to braking and cornering at low speed.

So thought i'd add myself to this thread. Hope you don't mind.

Its due its second service within the next month or so. Will ask garage to investigate and post back any results.

I have read a couple of forum posts on the net which sound like a similar noise but unfortunately no firm answers ever posted as to the cause.

Thanks Gary. I thought I was hearing things! When I get back from hols I will also drop it back into my Fiat dealers and update you.

Taken me a bit longer than expected to get the car into the garage, but as promised, a bit of an update on this issue.

Car has been inspected by garage and a Fiat tech. Apparantly the noise is coming from the ABS module at low road speeds.

According to them this is perfectly normal.

I'm suspicious myself as I havent heard it on other models, in fact the courtesy car we had (admittedly a 2010 model) didn't have this noise. So would be interested if anyone else has heard something similar.

Suffice to say it's been reported whilst under warranty and we'll see if anything develops further with it.

As with a lot of high pitched noises, maybe some people's hearing is more sensitive to it, but both me and my girlfriend can here it very clearly.
