Hi all,
Got a strange nearside rear brake problem.
Fitted all new drums, shoes etc .
Went for MOT, failed on rear beam and above brake.
Handbrake wasn't working at all on nearside.
While putting a new beam on I upgraded the rear from drums to disc's.
New handbrake cable as well.
Bled the brakes, fluid coming through fine.
Now exactly the same problem handbrake no effort at all and also the foot brake doesn't work on nearside.
Any ideas where to go next?

You'll need at least 1L of brake fluid.
Bleed the off side rear again running 250ml through, bleed both front brakes(could be an issue with bleed valves? Again 250ml per side) bleed nearside rear 250ml ml or more.
This will require 2 people unless you have a vacuum bleeder, once bled caliper off, observe piston when friend presses pedal, moving ?
Reassemble now try brake performance?
However, did you get the hand brake cables the right side round? They are not the same length but only by 15mm, look inside the car is the cable splitter straight? Or cock eyed?
Observer how far the caliper arm moves, you need to operate the hand brake several times, pushing the brake pedal several times whilst the hand brake is off, and repeat the process several times to reset the auto adjusters in the calipers.

The calipers ARE new aren't they?
Too late now but drums are way better on a small car.
