I keep getting an intermittent problem with Gears becoming difficult to change in my 2015 500c.
I have to haul it out of current gear and force it into the next gear. Feels like the gate is shut and the stick is going to bend in half. No noises, no grinding, no smells, no slipping.
Then on the next trip after the car has sat for a while - all works normally. So the resident mechanic looks at my like I'm crazy!
Master cylinder has fluid, no sign of leaks in the slave, although no great investigation has been undertaken yet.
I can change gears when car is stationary. We have looked at the linkage and changed gears by hand. But only with the engine off.
It has happened 4 times over 5 months
It is working at the moment but the last time I had to drive about 3 miles in 1st gear to get home. Next day it was fine.
The next time it happens I am going to give the clutch a few pumps to see if it helps.
I've read about the quick fit/seized pipe joiner and the after market 'fix. But this does fit the intermittent nature of the problem.
The only pattern I can see is it happens at the end of a long trip.
Anything else?
