Hi guys, I have seen a few other threads with this question from a few years ago but there wasn't any final answer to the problem.
So the rear windows packed up while one was being opened and this also switched the steering controls off at the same time, all fuses are OK.
When the ignition is switched on the steering controls light up for a second and sometimes a rear window will drop down and won't go up. To get it up you have to hold the button to close and keep cycling the ignition.
So my question is, has anybody come across this problem before and how did you fix it.

Wiring loom in drivers door.

I lost all controls in the front and back of the steering wheel + the use of the rear windows. Could not be operated from both driver controls or rear passenger controls.

Ordered a new one through Fiat at a main dealer and fixed the issue.

JUST A HEADS UP!
Make sure they get the correct one though… When they first ordered mine in, they ordered in the drivers side which sounds fine… however, when it arrived it was for the drivers side but for Left-Hand Drive. They had to reorder the part and get the passenger one ordered in to fit the Right-Hand Drive. This was back in 2020 when I bought the new 2020 edition so the parts might be more local now.

What was wrong with the loom, were there broken wires ?

I can’t remember I’m afraid. It was about 4 and a half years ago when I had the issue. I had only had the car for about 2-3 months when it happened.

Took it in to a Fiat dealership, got it checked, part ordered and part swapped - turnaround from the day the part was ordered to the day the part was fitted was about 4 weeks (but you could blame this on the fact it was just after the first Covid lockdown, so everything was still moving smoothly possibly).

I think the fault does register on an OBD if you know someone.

Thanks for the insight, it gives somewhere to start again in the next few days
