Hi everyone,
I have a Fiat Bravo 1.9 Mjet 16v and I'm hearing a squeaking noise when turning the steering wheel, but only at a specific angle (around 180°). It sounds like metal on metal, starting with a quick "click" and turning into a longer squeak after driving for a while. The noise gets worse with outside temperature and after longer drives, and it happens when driving over bumps too.
It seems to almost disappear in wet conditions.
The upper shock absorber mount has already been replaced, so that's ruled out.
This video was recorded after driving for about 40 km and it was hot outside, so the sound was loud and very noticeable.
Has anyone experienced something similar or have any idea what this might be?

Hi, 🙂
that sounds like a Jawa motorcycle.. ☺️

I own the punto 199 and Alfa Mito, so am confident in Suspension noise.. Yours sounds very different!

So, you say it makes this sound on large bumps,, does that rule-out a Steering component..? 🤔
Thank you for your respose. I'm not sure. The noise actually starts when turning the steering wheel (mainly at one angle), and only later starts happening on bumps – usually after driving for a while and everything heats up. So I’m still thinking it could be steering-related.
