On form Mr Mehstg! Nah Matt & I understand each other now.... but the fact remains £200 for close to 200Bhp is a damn good "bang for buck" ratio in anyones terms.... for sure less costly than Matt's €2,000+ solution lol!

There is the issue of that heavy MJet lump tho....

I can see that, weight etc of the MJet isnt a good thing to drag along.

Aye but 190 Derv BHP is a lot different to 190 Petrol BHP.

Like matt says nowt in it even though adam has more HP on paper if thats in a norrow power band whats the point.

I know that Chris... lets not forget the lighter TJet will do the twisties better too...

Horses for courses... but my original Post was really about how much it costs to get the pub bragging rights about horsepower.

I think Oldschool could probably answer that better than I TBH but there was a saying way back "aint no substitute for CC's" from American V8 tuners I think. Bearing in mind a 16v motor and an 8v motor have different power delivery profiles I feel the 8v unit has a more diesel orientated leaning, (low revs, bags of low RPM grunt) but then I'm no expert.

I'm sure some of the better educated tuners will come on and express their views, technology has moved on so much nowadays but is in some ways negated by the laws on emmissions and general engine cleanliness.

There is a substitute for cubic inches: cubic feet

But I have to say that the M-Jet, while in its ideal rev range, it is pretty damned good - although the T-Jet isn't out of breath by 4000rpm The problem I have with the M-Jet is getting the thing off the line. Ain't no good for traffic light stuff lol. Not that I would ever do that anyway :nono:
