Trying to find information how to update the software at the fiat as well as the tomtom web sites. No success. You can give some valid information? Thanks.

hi there...
...my fiat is 2008, ive updates to 5.6, and it still doesnt recognize my iphone 5 what else can i do.
it pairs just fine and works bluetooth. but will not charge from the usb socket, or let me play music from my phone as a media player.
can you help
I followed these instructions but fall over at number 5 - I plugged in the USB pen drive, turned on and nothing happens.1) Download the appropriate version* from
2) Extract the contents of the zip file to the root of an otherwise empty USB stick
3) Disable bluetooth on your phones/other devices you normally connect to the car to avoid them trying to connect as you update the B&M
4) Place the USB into the socket on the car (not the socket directly on the B&M control unit), turn the key to ON, but don't start the car.
5) Watch the display, it will come up 'Installing...' - do NOT start the car or turn off the key
6) It'll take at least 5-8 mins to install, you might get a message that says 'Restarting..' - don't turn the ignition off.
7) Eventually a message will come up on the display saying 'Complete' - you can then turn off the ignition and remove the key.
*If your car is older than mid 2011, you'll need the Gen 1 update (max version is 5.6), otherwise you'll need the Gen 2 update (v 6.0 currently). The easiest way to tell whether you have the Gen 2 Blue & Me unit is whether you need an iPod/iPhone adapter to play music - if you don't, you have the later unit.
I followed these instructions but fall over at number 5 - I plugged in the USB pen drive, turned on and nothing happens.
I have tried several things and am pulling my minimal hair out.....
Any advice?
Hi all,
I'm new to this forum and have the problem of my blue and me not working at all. I've tried disconnecting the battery but that hasn't reset it. I've also done steps one to five, but when I plug in the USB to my car nothing happens?! The Blue and me hasn't worked in my car for over a year and I'd really like to have it working again!!
All help appreciated,
Ryan
Ryan, hi and welcome to the forum.
Some extra info about your car may be helpful, what engine/trim and how old is the car?
Don't want to start putting you off already, but if you've followed other forum members instructions here and you've had no luck, you may want to consider nipping to your local Fiat dealership. Yes, it will cost you, but as I would always point out, if the car hasn't had the benefit of a main dealership service for more than quite some time, then there will undoubtedly be software updates that will need applying to the vehicle anyway. Diagnostics are usually part of the service and so if you were to mention about the B+M not working, I'm sure they'd sort that fault out. If your car is over 3 years old, many Fiat dealerships do fixed price servicing, so might be worth a shot.
I have a 2007 Grande Punto Sporting 1.4 16V.
I haven't had the car serviced by Fiat but just a local garage.
Another problem I have is that the rear parking sensors don't work.
Thanks for the help. I've posted in the right forum now.
Would you suggest going direct to the local Fiat dealer? Or would you say to go to an Fiat/Alfa independent specialist?
