Hi,

I`m strugeling with a warning light for dipped lights. And the fault message "check left side light" and "check right side light"
All the lights are working as they are supposed to.
BUT the fault message "check left/right side light", does it mean "parklights/taillights" or the "side markers" on motorhomes?

Have checked all lights, everything works. Replaced bulps to be sure they are the right ones, and checked connectors, just to be sure.
Checked most of the wiring as well.

But the fault is still pressent?
Any sugestions?

Hello,

What kind of motorhome is that? what's the wheel base?

I'm asking to try to determine if the sidelights are the part of the FIAT's or converter's installation, which might be the clue.

If you write about the side lights I assume you have them. Have you got single or double bulbs as the parking lights in the rear light clusters?

It`s a Hobby motorhome.
On this motorhome, the orange "sidelights", numberplate lights, upper front and rear markings are connected togheter in one circuit on the fusebox behind B-pillar.
Front parking light and taillights are connected in one circut. Are the numberplates supposed to be connected to taillights??

I found the attached extract for x250 sidelights, in my documents library. It was probably gleaned from a previous thread, as I only have eLearn for my x244. I will leave you to investigate the contents, and I hope that it helps.

In the standard Ducato, If the total wattage of the circuit is not what the computer thinks it should be, (perhaps because you have fitted different bulbs or one is not properly connected) it may think there is a fault and cut the power. Thats why there is no sidelight fuse. But I don't know what changes the converter has made.

Front parking light and taillights are connected in one circut.

I assume the error message is about those.

According to eLearn on the original installation the numberplate lights were on the same circuit as front and rear parking lights. From what you've wrote it's different now.

This might mean that the power / resistance of all the bulbs in the circuit is different. I have no idea if that can be changed in the BCM. That might also mean that non standard bulbs or a resistor have been fitted to level out the difference.

Is there anything about it in the Hobby owner's manual?

Hi, Can I just double check the year of the vehicle. It looks exceedingly clean for a 2008 with 70k on clock. Are the traffic laws in Norway different to the UK. In my experience, number plate lights always come on with sidelights. If they are all working, I would think the fault lies with the computer. Good luck there. I'm afraid I can be of no further help. All the Best, Ian.
