Technical Shaking at 40 - 50 mph

Thank you everyone for your replies and suggestions. I have found an English speaking garage here on the Spanish coast so will contact him.
Sounds like it could be C/V joint although there are no other symptoms. With regard to jacking up one side and running the engine. Apart from being very dodgy I doubt it would show anything up as there needs to be torque applied to cause the symptoms!
Will let you know the result.

Perhaps if you go for a road test with the mechanic, so that he can see exactly what you are referring to, so there is no confusion.:)

Sorry to hijack your thread but I have a similar issue but mine vibrates from 30-50mph but not just when accelerating, but in neutral as well. Its a 2014 model.
It started when I took it in May for MOT and to get the rear chassis shackle bushes and spring rear eyelet bushes replaced due to squealing over every bump.
It failed on a front tyre and the others were cracked so I opted to get them replaced at the same time - big mistake. When I picked it up I noticed the vibration straight away on the way to the storage amd it was mainly through the floor and seat, but slightly noticeable through the steering wheel. Took it to get the wheels balanced and these were OK so went back and the garage changed the tyres for a new set. - No difference - so rules out tyres

So I dont know whether its the rear suspension or something else causing the problem. Been trying to sort it, but the garage dont know whats casuing it. They have changed the shocks and just had the driveshafts changed, which appears to have made it a little worse over 50mph, as it was less noticable the faster you went.

Not sure what the next step is, new rims just in case one is buckled, as it cant be the tyres now

It is disappointing that it went in fine and came out like this. Looking for another garage as I have lost hope with the current one who cant be bothered.

Sounds like you need a professional mechanic, bad enough they don't cure a problem , but if it comes out worse than it went in they want their ar*es kicking :(

Not sure what they can have done?
If I had only the bushes done it would have pointed me in that direction but alas I tried to save time and had the tyres changed as well. :(

Maybe have the steering geometry checked out front and rear, I have seen vehicles "crabbing " down the road when watched from behind.
However if rear spring shackles etc. have been "worked on" it may be worth checking those, since you have already had the drive shafts and tyre side looked at. Normally if wheels were distorted the tyre fitter would see that when running them up on the machine to check the wheel balance.
It probably needs a good independent engineer to inspect and locate the issue, as it sounds unsafe from what you mention.

I have had it to the main dealers as well.

They said they couldn't find anything wrong, Even went out with the service manager, a nice guy who went though everything on a test drive and just said - 'they all do this - its normal' I just gave up for a month, then decided to get the drive shafts done.
I have been given the name of a good technician by a local taxi owner, so will try him next/
Cant just give up

The way I look at it is this, as a mechanic/engineer I may not feel every issue a customer notices, but as they have driven the vehicle a lot longer than I ever will, they have noticed something wrong and it is up to me to find out what that is, that is my job.
