Re: service due

Examiner is good but poor compared to some diagnostic machines. As for all diagnostic tools...they are only one tool in a techs toolbox & only as good as the operator can operate/decipher them.

Amen.

One Fiat guy took 3 minutes to clear the "service due" on my Stilo last year, but this year at the same place they used 45 minutes without managing it... The first guy had quit. So I'm still watching the "service due".

Incompetence is the word. And they got pissed at me because I didn't want to pay for an hour labour (1100 NOK = 110 GBP).

Re: service due

He don't have to find something like "Service Due clear" etc., but something like "Write data about / doing periodical service..." or so...

Re: service due

Tbh next time its probably a good idea to make sure your garage doing the service can do it for you! Its what I do!

spot on, my garage takes about a minute to clear it, usually forget at 1st then get in the car, then get back out and ask em to do it, but takes them no time at all(y)

service due (reset)

can anyone help me please i braught my stilo jtd at the weakend and it says sevice due, on start up it has just been serviced but the sales company didnt reset the computer how can i get it done???

Re: service due (reset)

please search the stilo section as this topic has been covered over & over again.

And as you have already stated in post number 90 it can be permanently deleted by fiat examiner if you ask them..going to get that done on the wife's on her next service if she decides to keep the car that long..then after here warranty is up I can carry on with the services myself and not have to worry about the service message..(y) result..:D

correct Phil...but no one listens:bang:

Okay... Could someone please tell me how to handle the examiner to access the correct variables. The guys at Fiat can't find or clear it (used 45 minutes the last time without success).

What is the correct procedure, detailed, so I can explain it to them or bring a post-it note.

Service reset...again !!!

I know its been around FF more times than a 2 dollar hooker....but...

is there a way of resetting the service computer, at home, or with a few basic tools and a little know how?

a simple yes or no will be fine...
unless its a YES, then a brief simple explanation would be very warmly welcomed..

I have searched and read all the threads on this (i think all) and they are all different from each other, so i thought i would ask 1 final time..

Thank you :)

In doing so you will be restoring the health in at least 2 most loved and cuddled and cherished Stilo,s.
And you can have a fantastic Christmas knowing you have saved the "SERVICE" screen from flashing its little electric heart out...
