I am not saying it is cheap, London prices are always expensive but it would be interesting to see what other fiat garages charge.

Based in Dublin. I've had something very similar on a 1.4 '09 first being a low mileage 3,291miles in Nov '10 ('Fiat' oil + filter) €138 all inclusive (previous owner) and the 2nd last Nov 2011 (Selenia Oil + filter, Brake fluid) €227 all inclusive + €23 for the pollen filter. The first service got the 'Service' tick but the 2nd service only got a 'Oil/Oil filter change' tick. Did your 'services' get a tick on 'Service' for both services in the Service history book ?
I changed the Air filter myself (which is not needed according to the service history) and I personally found that the car felt a bit more zippy.

The service book was stamped for both services together with a tick sheet attached to the invoices of all the things they checked and did.

Hi all I bought all the parts on E bay from St leonards motors for £55 for my wifes 2010 1.2 lounge and added 4 litres of fully synthetic oil and got the dealer to quote for the service with me supplying all parts.
Quote for them to do it all ( 18000 service ) was £195 and with the parts provided by me ...£ 55 ! Parts needed were

AIR FILTER
OIL FILTER
POLLEN FILTER
SPARK PLUGS
ENGINE OIL

Also supplied screenwash which i didnt use as it was already in the car.
There is a huge amount of savings to be made.
Parts and oil totalled £85 plus £55 labour = £50 saving and to be honest its much better in your pockets.
Hope this helps.

Very good point. The cost of all those parts is nowhere near £140, just goes to show really.

Your labour price is very good indeed, one of the cheapest we've seen on here for a main dealer.

1st service = engine oil and filter,
2nd service = engine oil and filter, brake fluid, plugs

WOW. You've been well and truly screwed.

My first service was about £130 inc VAT and I got the oil, oil filter, air filter, pollen filter and plugs done. Sure London is more expensive..... but that's a ripoff.

That may be so, lets see what other Fiat garages are charging. Puntomatic was quoted £195 at St Leonards, if that didn't include brake fluid then it equals the £253 I paid.

No let's not see.

All that would prove is that both of you have been taken from behind by your dealerships.

I started this thread hoping it would be helpfull so that others get some idea of what Fiat garages are charging for servicing.
I appreciate it can be done cheaper if you buy your own parts, go to an independent, or do it yourself. You may not want to see but others may.

I think you misunderstand. You don't need to go to independents to get prices like that.

I appreciate that some people feel that buying parts is a faff, but you can save absolute shedloads of money doing this. If you go to to a dealer with your own parts and say "My independent will do it for this much, what are you going to do?" then you will do much better.

st Leonard's supplied the parts only, Donnelly fiat in Belfast quoted and did the service.
I didnt think the 500 needed a brake fluid change until year 3 !
They still managed to mess it up too......left the breather hose off the top of the rocker cover to the air filter and sprayed the whole bulkhead etc with engine oil. Not a happy camper !

Just had second service on car at 2 years old.

First service was at 5,000 mileage. (service record per 18,000 mile schedule)
Second Service at 10,000 mileage. (service record per 36,000 mile schedule)

Main dealer 2 year service plan, total cost = £250

Incidentally, gear shaft oil selector seal and both washer jets were replaced under warranty.

The gear shaft selector seal may be worth looking out for - my Panda's is slightly leaking again after being replaced 18 months ago.

The washer jets is curious as they weren't faulty - is there a new design and Fiat are replacing when cars are brought in for servicing?
