Just bought 2002 Fiat Seicento 1.1S for daughter. Immaculate car but I have a problem!
Bought car Monday and drove it all day stopping and starting about 8 -10 times without a single problem. Then I took it to an Estonian/ Lithuanian? car valet guy who did a fantastic job of valeting the whole car. However! When I went to pick it up he said the car would not start.
On inspecting the engine compartment I can say that you could have eaten your dinner off the engine - it was that clean. i then asked him if he jet washed or steam cleaned the engine which he denies - I am not so sure.
So here is the problem. The car came with 2 blue keys. One fits the passenger door and nothing else. And the other fits the drivers door, boot and ignition. The car will not start but turns over well, exactly like you had pulled the HT lead out of the distributor cap. No spark. Also the little orange key symbol and the engine management light come on and stay on.
I suspect the immobiliser is active and is not recognising the key?
I do not know the code and Fiat will not give it to me saying they suspect I will need a new set of keys, immobiliser etc etc. About £450 + vat?
The car is worth about £800. So I have a problem.
What can I do?
