General rust at pre-purchase visual check

Hello

before i buy the car, i got under it. exhaust pipes are well covered in rust. is that normal? does that mean expensive repairs at some point?

year of construction 2019, 60'000miles, 10'000 euro
FIAT Tipo 1.6MJ Station Wagon Lounge DCT

I hope it's just an outside layer of rust on the universal joint of the steering.l, or would you say it is damaged?

are these rust spots a problem at the inspection?
if this is ok, how do you rate the offer?
is it possible to fit a towbar?

Rather normal, rusted before it ever left the factory. Make sure it's not rusted all the way through. The rest I cannot tell you about, I would think in Switzerland to be more honest then in the states, over here we bring condoms when we buy or get it serviced. A word of caution as you are being over run by the muzzies, don't ever trust those rats.

Hi,

The exhaust I would say is normal.. It's 5 years in service

Steering joint.. That looks "rusty", but not damaged

It may be that the car had wet carpets a lot
Cleaning / Valet.. Or lots of Snow..?

Hard to judge

In the UK our cars are Expensive new, by 3 years old the prices drop massively,

I know France have the opposite

A tipo here isn't worth that kind of money.. But could be ok in Switzerland


The 1 big point with a Tipo..!!

UK owners have problems finding Suspension components

Springs and Dampers.. Very difficult

thanks for your inputs. is there a way to

• check if pipes are "rusted all through"? didnt sound particularly strange.
• remove rust on pipes / steering joint; i'd like to prevent bad surprises at the inspection.

DCT ?
If the seller means auto it is not a dual clutch transmission. Fiat did not make a dual clutch transmission.
Do not buy it if auto / semi auto / dualogic
