General Rescued Panda!

As the postage was dearer than the item, I decided to order one for the Punto as well (Mk2 8V) which also has a twin coil set up. The part number is the same, so I assume they are interchangeable? I guess they must be if the part is the same.
The engine in the Panda is a 999cc, and the Punto is a 1242 8v.

So, my rubber ring oil seal arrived today. Unfortunately my Haynes doesn't seem to cover my twin coil version. I have removed the coil pack assembly from its mounting plate. Now do I remove that mounting plate from the end of the engine / camshaft area? Is that where I will find the rubber seal?

Yes and yes to the last 2 questions :)

I fitted the new coil pack "o" ring, and the rocker cover gasket, but there still seems to be a bit too much black-looking oil around the top end of the engine for my liking. When I changed the air filter, the box was very oily and now round the throttle body area is oilier than a salesman at a convention.
As an off the road project car, it is only getting occasional 10 minute tick over and rev ups, plus first gear up and down my drive to keep the brakes working. Could this be anything to do with the oily-ness, or could something be blocked or otherwise leaking?

Could be getting oil into the air filter through the breather pipe.

This is what a perished breather pipe can do to the top of an engine... -- my Punto, in this case (see this post). :(

Not pretty.... (n)
I have replaced the passenger side door on Belladonna with one that was far less rusty.
I am just debating if it is worth keeping the old door. I am a bit tight for space as I currently have 2 broken Nissan engines and 8 full sets (yes 32) of assorted used tyres courtesy of my son's drifting hobby in my garden. Luckily they are out of sight of neighbours!
I am not clever enough to weld a new section on to the door, but I am loathe to bin it if it could be of use in future to anybody.
Any thoughts?

Fizzles drivers door was a bit like that, the seams had gone through.

I've kept the door as it's repairable - just not by me, also parts like glass come in handy (for both sides) in case of breakage.

Can you not suspend it on a wall or flat on rafters if short on space?

Personally I have 8 alloys, 5 steel wheels and no loose used tyres, I feel decidedly amatuerish :(

You are right. This is rarity material nowadays, so I will suspend it somehow in the shed.
The wheel / tyre/ engine collection (not to mention 2 front bumpers, coilovers, a wiring loom and a fuel tank from a BMW 3 series) are not something we are proud of. Especially Mrs Codger. She says we are looking like a scrap yard. At least she is pleased that Belladonna looks a bit smarter.
Just as well she hasn't looked under the floor covering yet...

Let me ramble off topic for a moment...
I'm limited to our garden shed for car bits because I live at home so having bits of car in the house is not an option, my current small and strange collection includes a full exhaust system from a motorbike and a motorbike tyre (I have never owned a motorbike and have no idea how these came into my possession)
90% of the engine cover plastics from a Smart ForFour.
2 very rusty steelies without tyres, about 40 odd broken/scratched and awful hubcaps.
Lastly a broken pop-out sunroof from something...
