Technical replacing washer jets 2010 panda

Need to replace a washer jet on my 2010 active 1.1 eco Panda. Would like some tips on getting to the underside of the plastic windscreen scuttle. Others I have changed on cars have been simple to do being on the bonnet lid. Many thanks.

It looks that way which is a shame as i need to replace mine so was keeping an eye on this thread.
I have a few other jobs before i get around to doing this but if still no replies i will post at a later date.
On one of my washer jets it has had a paper clip wedged in it to direct the water for the last 3 years and where i take the car for its MOT he has never said anything so thought he had never seen it.
When i took it for MOT 2 weeks ago he said i see youve still got that bloody paper clip lol. It still works so it passed.

Looking in the haynes manual, it seems you have to remove the wiper arms and then the scuttle grille panel. Then they just pop off.

I'm gonna be swapping mine out for some better washer jets, mine when the reservoir gets near empty, the jets loose some of the power and the centres start to rotate,
this then makes the centres move outwards as well!!!
and coz they have moved like that the water doesn't hit the screen.

Let us know which ones you get, because I want to replace the standard ones.

You have to be so delicate when adjusting them, then it seems a week later after enough bumps in the road they drop down again and end up not hitting the screen.

Thanks for the info , tis what I thought, the removal of the wiper arms, was hoping there may have been a way round that. Trust Fiat to devise a way to make things difficult ?

I'm getting sick of even a weak fart seemingly knocking them out of line.

You don't really need to take the wiper arms off. Undo the self tappers holding the front edge of the scuttle panel down and lift it just enough to reach underneath to manipulate the jets out.

no not yet, gonna visit a scrappy in the new year and check out loads of different cars, might even look for some jets that attach to the wiper arm itself.
i washed Bad Panda yesterday and pushed the bloody jets back in again....crap washer jets on these panda's.
was actually thinking of super gluing them in postion till i get some decent one's.

I have a 2009 Panda Multijet and I got tired of the wiper arms getting in the way of the washer jets, so I relocated the jets to the bonnet.
I drilled 2 holes and fitted standard jets with nuts to hold them in place, I now have clean a windscreen without without the wiper arms getting in the way, and a bonus in that in cold weather the engine keeps the pipes and the jets warm and ice free.

Same problem on my 2007 100HP. I've re-adjusted them and have tried using some LS-X silicone sealant in the recess. I'm hoping that this will be sticky enough to prevent rotation of the jet but also easy to pick out if I ever need to.

i superglued them into postion today was getting very annoyed with them popping out, still going down to a scrappy to find some decent jets hopefully to fit in the same postion as the original jets, might even look for a stronger washer motor from another fiat model

It isn't necessary to remove either the wiper arms or the scuttle to remove the washer jets. They can be removed from above using a credit or debit card or similar, just push it under the sides of the jets and there is a 'springy' tab that can be felt on each side that if depressed allows the assembly to be removed. There is a bit of a knack to it and once you have the jet out and separated from the pipe care needs to be taken that the pipe doesn't recoil behind the scuttle. I cleaned mine by soaking for an hour or so in a mixture of boiling water, washing up liquid white vinegar.

The acidity of the vinegar dissolves any limescale and the washing up liquid 'cuts' through any 'oily' deposits accumulated in the jets. Using boiling water speeds the process. My washers are now spraying like the day they were fitted without needing to replace them with new.

Be careful; many types of plastic will be permanently damaged by boiling water.

A proprietary descaler such as this will remove limescale and other deposits quickly at room temperature without risking damaging the plastic. It works the same way as white vinegar, only faster and more effectively. It's also available from most hardware stores and some supermarkets.

I appreciate that some plastics can be damaged by boiling water and that proprietary cleaners are available but I tested with water from the kettle (so maybe not actually 100C) before leaving them to soak, the homemade descaler saved me a trip to purchase anything. I only post what I did and the results, if they had melted etc I obviously wouldn't have posted.
