General Removing Engine Shrouds

Hey everyone. Can the engine shrouds be removed from the engine bay without having to remove the motor from the car? Mine are in need a some fresh paint and I'd love do paint them without removing the engine.

I’m afraid you will have to remove the engine to get the cowlings off

If this is possible, how many cuts will I have on my hands when I'm done? I doesn't look that tight in the engine compartment.

I've removed all of them whilst in situ at different times. But if I was doing the lot I would remove the engine and gearbox together as I find that easier.
You probably won't damage your hands too much but will bump and/or cut your head.
There are some unexpected nuts and bolts which are easier to see with the engine on the ground.
Ultimately though, with logic and patience you'll get them off and on again in situ.
PS. You'll be removing the dynamo too.
