Wow! Chiaro err sorry Po is looking amazing (y) love the stripe Vernon, it really goes with the beautiful colour and love the wheels too! Look a bit more chunky and purposeful than the standard ones.

Thanks for the positive comments.

Chiaro/Po always drove really well and seemed to be a little quicker than a 1000cl should be, Gavin had Cinq alloys fitted which helped make the most of this but I wanted a more original look that kept the extra rubber. So, as Bob has mentioned, I fitted 14" new steelies from a current 500 with 165-60 tyres and retained the little black centre caps.

I like the silver stripe too but did have another reason for fitting it. The doors were a little rusty at the bottom, cutting out and welding in new metal was too expensive an option so I treated the rust, filled, and repainted the bottom of the door only, the stripe helps to hide where the paint was blended in. ;)

Good to hear you've had some positive feedback from members of the public already 'Po the Panda'. You see, what your Dad and I were saying wasn't just sales talk!

heh when i first started driving i never used the radio.. only while sat in a car park or if i was waiting in the car for some one.. i just loved to listen to everything the car did.
i would imagine all the engine pistons and valves, the gear box and differential moving as i did different things when driving the car. a bit like a really slowed down video in my head.
bit sad really.. curse of being overly mechanically minded.

the worst of it is.. 3 years later and i still very rarely have the radio on when driving yet i really.. really love music... i still like to listen to the car. :D

I am so glad that I'm not the only one who does this...! :)

In my case, though, I visualize a sort-of cutaway, or cross-section, of the engine: with valves and pistons moving in perfect harmony...! :nutter:

Oops I think I may have been responsible for spoiling the world record for a Classic Panda thread staying on topic........

Well done! :worship:

Talking of which: I've just bought my ten-year-old nephew the full Hitchhiker's... -- my brother is probably despairing: but you've got to get to 'em early...! :D

Thank you :)

The whole of the increasingly inaccurately named 5 part trilogy? What a  Uncle - have you achieved the status of "mad uncle Stephen" yet?! ;)

Yes. But not the Eoin Colfer disappointment....

Oh, a long time ago... -- makes me very popular (well, at least with my nephew...)! :D

Must admit I haven't read that - you give it such a ringing endorsement though, that I must conclude that Private Eye got it right when they called it "Mostly Humourless" :ROFLMAO:

Mad uncles are great - can you adopt me as a Nephew? :worship:

Any chance everyone can stop saying how good the Panda formerly known as Chiaro looks? As you know it took Vern a year & 2 attempts to prise him away from me

At least I know where he is, and is in good hands. There is a better than evens chance I'd make room for him if Po the Panda decides to go for a posher Panda in the future (e.g. a very smart Super currently living on Bedgrove! :D ).
