Not long after puchase, I swapped my oversized Abarth style wheels (which rubbed) to a set of 'R' type wheels. I used the standard 500 wheel bolts, but the holes in the rims are flared, which suggests they take a tapered wheel bolt.
Is this correct; and if so, do I need to use the tapered bolts instead?

Answer is yes, those wheels have that variation , the original 500R wheels had a well width of 3.5“ and used the flat head bolts. 126 wheels had a well width of 4” and had the flared holes. I did have a new set of those bolts but not sure if I still have them.

Ah, thanks. I've just looked and it seems I have a mismatched pair! I remember now that two wheels had 'flat' holes, and the other pair have flared. My logic had me fit them in their respective pairs front and rear, not sure if that makes any difference?

Well it might do if the rims are different widths. 500R tyres were 125x12 and 126 were 135 x12

Both have 125x12 tyres fitted, and to my eyes are the same size; I shall have to have another look tomorrow.
