Technical Punto 75 engine in seicento

do you mean if your seicento is multipoint.. ?? if so it should be a case of just extending the wires

at the moment im working on my cinquecento geting it ready for turbo'ing
so far iv got the 1242 punto 60 lump in, and hoping to get the head stripped for the de-comp plate this weekend,

but i also have a mpi sei which will be next but wana stay n/a with the sei
and have just sourced a p75 engine in a local scrappy :)

and the injectors definitly work Properly?
any idea on multi point?

Yes they do, why shouldn't they? That is the exact connection the Punto 75 uses. Mine worked that way from day one till i installed Megasquirt.

On multipoint Sei, you'll have to keep the Sei ECU and re-map it (not easy in most cases as i remember), or use both ECUs, P75 for engine managment and original for speedometer, A/C, fan etc. A member here in Greek Clubcento has it like this for more than 5 years now, without problems.

Punto 75 ECU plugs directly at the spi loom. You only have to replace the single injector connector with 4 connectors (in parralel) for the P75 injectors.

If you get an early non coded P75 ECU, you can just start up and go. Otherwise you will have to change locks and keys (to have a fully funcional immo), or tie together a P75 key with the immo antenna, somewhere under the dash and continue to use your regural keys.

P.S. Fuel pump will also need to be replaced on an spi Sei, with a 3bar one (P75 will do). I use a Fiat coupe one.

this is if its going into the mk1 1108spi seicento, the mk2 1108mpi seicento uses a totally different set-up with ecu loom etc etc and is NOT a plug and play set-up, if you want to run a 16v in a mk2 the best way i can thing of is either to get the stock 1108 ecu re-mapped or get a 1242 16v ecu virginised and then it will learn the codes from the sei and there will be no problems, as for a 16v ecu that will plug straight onto the sei loom i think (dont quote me, check before you buy) that the early mk2 punto 16v (sporting and ELXi) will fit along with brava/o 80 16v

from my personal exerience the 75 into an mk1 spi is a walk in the park and the 16v into a mk2 is ok, but a 75 into a mk2 has been done many times, from mine and the car owners research no-one has manged to get it to run as well as a 75 into a mk1, i failed and i put this very engine into my cinq and it ran beautifully, i aint an expert and i'm only going off my experiences but i wouldn't recommend any-one to fit a 75 into a mk2 sei, get a mk1 spi and change the bumpers and fit a private plate and no-one will know or save yourself alot of hassle, time and money and buy a ready done 16v conversion

Was going to start up a new thread but itll fit in here nicely so here goes.

I have a cinq 1.1.

At some point in the future i want to do the 1.2 conversion.Locally i can get a very cheap punto 75 engine, however this being mpi i dont want all the associated hassle.

Can i use my 1.1 spi head on the p75 block and retain my current ecu etc?

Thanks.

Id love too,but with no garage and only being able to have the car off the road for a day or two i dont think i can be messing about with the ecu.I want to put the engine together on the bench, then drop it straight in,in one go.

Realistic or not?

you could.. but then you would be defeating the point of putting the 1.2 in.. the 1.1 head would restrict the 1.2. may as well go punto 60 for straight swap. then go for 75 cam at a later date

Go mpi, arc's cinq was sweet with a p75 block in, altho he had megasquirt running it, just splice the injector wires

you could do this but then you end up with the fueling issue to tackle :bang:
if you dont fancy that then go with the 60

fitting the 75 in a cinq is easy cos you use the stock cinq looms just modified very simply (2 wires) and you just swap the ecu for the 75 ecu (along with the codebox and keys) its what i did on my cinq and it was an animal keeping up with some much more expensive machinery, PM me if you want me to talk you throught it but a 75 into a cinq is a 1 day job if you have everything ready, i got the swap down to 6hrs on my own

There is 2 kind of P75 ECU.
IAW 8F.5T
93-94 Punto 75 ecol. (this is without immo)
94-99 Punto 75 (this is WITH immo)
