Technical Problem with selecting a piston for the 1.4 v16 100HP engine

Hello, has anyone carried out a major overhaul of a panda100hp engine?

Because I have encountered a strange problem, namely, there are no replacement pistons for the 169A3000 engine in any manufacturer's catalog. I have found that these engines are twins with other Fiat 1.4 v16 (95hp) engines, for example, with the 843A1000 designation.

I tried searching German, Italian and English forums, none of which confirmed my suspicions that pistons from the 843A1000 engine would be suitable for the 169a3000.

This is very frustrating for me as I have already spent about 12 hours looking for any information on this topic so any advice is valuable to me, I have also written to Mehle to explain this anomaly but they are also surprised by this and it may take some time and bring nothing.

If any of you have carried out such an overhaul, thank you in advance for any information, and I apologize for my English, I come from Poland and it is not my native language

This part number looks correct to me

Used in quite a few different fiats models

I would double check with any supplier first

thank you for your reply the pistons you sent are interestingly not assigned to any car model in eper I can't find this number at all which is interesting.

These pistons are in size +0.1 the local grinding shop (I don't know if that's what it's called in English, it's about a plant that deals with engine block machining) has retained the factory cylinder size of 72mm which means it needs pistons in size STD. I'm attaching a photo of the catalog numbers which according to eper are appropriate.

As it's already apart

The part number is normally cast on the inside edge of the piston

Eper part numbers will be different as they are a kit including the rings


Unfortunately I can't find any decent photographs of your piston from underneath

Heres the other side of a Tjet piston with some other manufacturers numbers, the fiat part number is on the other side

Here in the UK engine parts are so expensive it's not normal viable to overhaul when compared to replacement

Yes I forgot to add I also found this number the problem is exactly the same as in the case of numbers from eper 55272806

I don't believe eper list the part number of just the piston

It's sold as an assembly with the rings

As long as the numbers in the pistons match all is good

You can search via vin number, it will tell you which piston assembly is correct
