Unfortunately for me I had this exact problem today with my ‘65 500F. Does anyone know what these “sliders” are called on mrfiat, or have a part number?

They are called" Axle sleeves", and the part number at "Mr Fiat" is:--TM-500-046. When you get them, check them as there should be a slight 'blueing' in the area of the splines. This will show that they have been heat-treated. However, there is a very good chance that the splines on the drive-shaft are OK, they usually are.

Thanks! All fixed

Same here! Does anyone know what the torque setting is on the four 13mm bolts that secure tje couplers?
If I have decifered the workshop manual correctly, they are probably what are described as:___"axle shaft sleeve to flexible joint screw" and the correct torque for these screws is:---20.3 ft.lbs (27.3 Nm.) I have to admit to just doing them"up tight" with new spring washers, and I have never had a problem.

Thank you! I "did them up tight" with new spring washers as well. Hopefully no problems will alight in the future.
