Hi everyone, newbie here who owns a Panda Sporting for his first car.

I bought the car a month ago, and it has recently started developing clutch slip when the car is warmed up or carrying more than one person, the car sitting at 77300 miles currently (not slipping when cold, oddly). I have spoken to a few people, and most reckoned it was time for a new clutch. I phoned Fiat Chadwell Heath, who wanted 600 quid for the job (too much in my opinion), and then contacted Halfords who are going to do it for £480 total cost.

I know that the clutch is one of the weakest parts of the drivetrain, and that Clutch stuff wasn't covered on warranty due to the dubious wear and tear banner, so I was anxious to get it replaced ASAP to eliminate a total failure occurring. Anybody shed some light on whether this is a decent price please?

Also, many questioned my choice of the Panda, but it was honestly my dream car, and the fact its the slightly rarer Sporting version really sweetens the deal for me!

Why is the clutch so expensive on the Panda? I think I was quoted £150 including labour for an old Fiesta I had. I decided to scrap it though as it needed £300 welding doing etc.

Probably because its a compact engine bay so potentially more labour involved, labour costs have increased, and the diesel Panda clutch is a bit of an odd one apparently as its really small but has had to be made in a certain way to take the MJ torque and prevent slipping apparently.
