You have not mentioned any starting problems. This would seem to exclude key code recognition faiure. However as a precaution you may wih to remove the lower column shroud, and the the code receiver connectors whith a small squirt of contact cleaner, before reconnecting. This cured my emerging key code problem about 18 months ago.
The key code indicator is controlled on the negative side by the code receiver. It is possible that the you may have a trapped or damaged cable somewhere, causing an intermittent earth fault. One location for trapped wiring, is between the upper column shroud, and the dash, when the column is in the fully raised position.
The code receiver is powered via fuse F18 in the engine bay fusebox. For elimination you may wish to confirm that F18 is secure, but if there was a problem there, I woud expect it to manifest when starting.
Another possibility could be an internal fault in the code receiver, but I hope not.
Finally do not overlook the possibility of rodent damage.
