Technical P1170 error

I have this error code:
"P1170 - Mixture ratio [Minimum lean fuel]" on my punto 1,2 8v 2001.
The engine yellow light is on.
To be spark plugs, lambda sensor or else ...

car thinks mixture is off then

most likelly faulty lambda sensor

In Autodata is not such error code, it's begins with 0 and 2.
Before I buy a new lambda sensor, what else could generate this error?

what kind off equipment was the code rear with and did it give you the description on screen do you know

some computers other than fiats will give wrong information about manufaturer specific codes beginning with one

i'f you want to be sure get it read at fiat

I make the diagnostic at Fiat service.
I'm not sure that if I chage the lambda sensor the error will be off.

codes which start with 1 are manufactuer specific so generic readers are no good as these only read EOBD errors (some 'snap on' [mt2500 etc] do bit more but not a great deal)

The Check engine light means an O2 sensor problem.
Anyone who has taken this to be true and has spent quite a bit of money on replacing oxygen sensors knows this is not true.
