Most Pandas seem to leak a bit.
There are a number of things which can cause it to dribble around there:
camshaft cover gasket (fairly messy but cheap DIY job)
camshaft breather (rubber) pipe (even cheaper - about 1UKP - don't forget the flame trap) - I know this leaks down the back, but it does get everywhere, and can be difficult to locate from the bottom of the car.
sump rusted through (Puntos are (in)famous for this) (getting expensive for parts)
crankshaft seal (getting expensive for labour)
late addition to list:
camshaft oil seal ( will have to find out how difficult it is, as the CLX has started to drop quite a lot, and it looks like it may well be that seal..)
even later addition to list:
oil filler plug loose when fully in..
(I'm now
fairly certain my (most) recent leak is this - it's a tight fit over the first portion of the plug, but when actually "home" it is so slack you can rattle it about[:0]..)
I will confirm or deny this over the next few days.
probably final addition to list:
The oil filler plug was leaking, but it's not my main oil leak on that side.
I will have to see if the gasket set I won on Ebay the other day is complete enough for the job
Anyone know the going rate for stretch bolts??
