I have a 06 m-jet sporting and i have noticed some oil / dirt around my EGR valve and engine breather pipe as it meats the induction system while i was cleaning the car and checcking my oil (whitch is at the top of the dip stick??)

are these engines known for oil in the induction system??

had it to the dealers they checked the oil level (and said it was at the top but not over filled:confused:) as they changed it only 2000 miles ago, they cleaned it up and said if the seal on the pipe has gone it will be 47 quid parts and 45 labor ?

any help thanks

the crud around the egr valve is common, is all **** collected in there for exhuast emissions. Would suggest taking it off and giving it a clean. Check out the guides sections theres a how to in there.

cant understand which pipe/hose you mean.. if its the pipe near the EGR, coming out the side of the engine, im sure its with the breather in it - you get oil deposits here when the turbo is going or the seal on the hose is gone. Well its were they check to see if your turbo's leaking oil when they map it. Excuse my poor discription - hope it helps thought.

Get some pictures up makes it easier..

i would go with the seals gone or the jubilee clip has come loose. If its been mapped, this is common with the extra pressure under boost loosening it up?

although if its not the seals, many have reported there turbos leaving oil deposit, some even described as sweating oil and many, many dealers have said this is common and nothing to worry about. I wouldn't worry to much bout that. Unless the turbo is smoking or your getting white/blue smoke on start up?

how many miles have you done?

there is a doddgy batch of garrett turbo in earlier models too? have a search..

breather pipe:
i mean the pipe that comes across the front of the engine from right to left and joins just after the air mass sensor before it goes down to the turbo.

main pipe:
the main induction pipe comming from the intercooler in to the inlet manifold.

i would have taken it apart myself but i dont have any of the clips to replace the ones i take off, daft use once things!!!!!

it has done 17k miles but i have only done 1k since buying it at the start of july and yes it has been remapped to 165 by angel tunning

i have had a better inspection of the pipe and it looks to be damaged slightly dont want to remove it incase i damage the pipe / seal even more!?!?

i have been looking on the forum and am very very very very worried about my turbo because of it being a 06 with a angel remap!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
how can i find out if the turbo is a so called dodgy turbo?????

plz help as you can tell by the time of this post i have not been to bed yet 05:27 :(

I am sure it'll be fine mate. And you said that to fix it would be like 100 squid? If you are worried that much, why not just get the pipe replaced? It'll put your mind at ease...

I wouldn't worry about the turbo as it hasn't exploded yet! If you are worried, why not just get a private warranty to cover what you want. They generally all do cover turbos, although I know some people here have their own opinions on some of the companies and what they cover!

i have not been on in a while but it was an over fill of engine oil by the garage, had it taken out and had the induction system flushed dont think i will be going back to the garage that did the final service!
