Technical No 5th or reverse gear stick is wobbly

Hi my fiat seicento 900cc has recently started to act up in the gear department.
It wont engage reverse or 5th gear and all the gears are wobbly
Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem
Ive done a bit of research and I thibk its something to do with the linkage or a small washer on the linkage arm
Any help please

First of all make sure that the cables at the gearbag end are properly located, both the inner and outer. If the outers are moving at all, you will have a problem.

It could also be the plastic cup that holds the bottom of the gearstick is broken or worn. Whip the boot up and you will see if the bottom of the lever is moving where it shouldn't.
