Hi All,

Just bought a 2015 500 lounge 1.2.

It had the flashing mileage thing which we were informed was due to the blue & me module. OK we thought, we probably won't be using that anyway.

What we didn't realise at the time was after not using the car for 6 days the battery (which was new in July - according to the receipts supplied) was completely flat.

All is well again after a recharge for now, but my question is can we just pull a fuse and disconnect the module (assuming it is the cause) or will other stuff stop working?

and if that's not an option could we disconnect the unit itself? Yes I know where it is - so not looking forward to that!

I haven't tried reading codes or tracking down the extra current draw yet but just thought I'd ask first.

Thanks, Bruce

Yes very likely to be the dead Blue & Me. It would need the blue multiplug disconnecting at the module as a minimum, to stop the drain. A bit fiddly but you can get at it without removing the module (once you've removed the front fixings for the trim panel, pulled it away from the clips under the window and swung back - don't worry about disconnecting the rear seat belt, that can involve a sheared bolt and grief if you are not careful)....

Thanks for the replies.

A bit of progress on this but not much...

I measured the battery drain at around 300mA which I though was high. My DC clamp meter resolution was not very good so I bought a new one which confirms it at 320mA - this is with the car locked and left for over 10 mins.

Pulling F36 did reduce this to around 100mA but that still seems a bit high. What is considered normal?

No I haven't physically disconnected the unit yet just its supply fuse. I guess there's still many lines connected that could draw current.

The plan is to disconnect it when I get round to it. For now we're leaving the battery disconnected when not in use.

What current should I see with the car off?
