I very much doubt it, if there was an easier option then people wouldn’t have to go through the hassle of stripping there interior out to disconnect it. I could be wrong though 🤷

Can I run the car without the B&M unit connected? or is the B&M unit a part of the EMC?

Welcome to another Melbournian! 🙃

The B&M unit is a separate and independent unit and the only consequence of unplugging it is you'll have no Bluetooth (apart from having to do that pesky proxi alignment). The car will run happily without it. It's an awkward thing to get at however, tucked away next to the rear nearside speaker.

Thanks for sharing and I’ll be unplugging the unit this week… fingers crossed

Won't the steering wheel centre buttons be inoperative? Aren't they controlled via the B&M?
No, they're wired in. The FIAT Tomtom, if you have it, will not integrate with the car's systems though. 🙃

P.S. That, to me, would be the greatest loss. I get maybe 3 or 4 incoming phone calls in a year and outgoing even less, but all my music, some 80 albums and 1500 tracks are on the USB drive and accessing that through the steering wheel buttons is a right PITA. With the Tomtom it's simpler, though I still wouldn't do it on the move...
