Noticed today water out exhaust so defo head gasket has went between cylinders , going to order parts wheres the best place for punto parts ecp?? Thanks

Best do a compression test -- some water out of the exhaust is normal (it's a by-product of combustion and the catalytic converter).

Best place is eurocarcare.net or shop4parts. See Member offers for discounts.

Its very steamy even when at full temp , plus ising quite a bit of water and by seeing the water out exhaust i think gasket might be away between 2 cylinders but as you say i will need to do a comp test to be sure

Good job i ordered the head gasket kit and stuff today the car started misfiring under load i.e up hills so hoping its related to head gasket if water is getting in to cylinders somewhere

Just a quick update i removed cylinder head today and sure enough found oil in cylinder one , now heres the question there was also oil in the inlet manifold at cylinder 1 but none at exhaust i would have thought with the way the air flows it would have been the other way no ?

dunno just curious, got another car and when engine is cold, antifreeze is somewhere around middle but when at operating temp its below max, no air in that engine as its self purging one, maybe that just applies to puntos and made me wonder

Thanks for all your help on this i was really impressed with how helpful and quick people were to respond ?i took head gasket off and cleaned up will up a pic of where was passing

Yeah looks like was pushing in to cylinder aswell was in quite a sorry state explained the loss of coolant and the misfireing

This punto seems to be never ending bad news got head back from being skimmed and it is a bit corroaded at one of the water channels guy said might seal might not which am annoyed about because if i knew this before hand i wouldnt have continued to get it skimmed anyway have trial fitted gasket and it is right on the outer edge of the cylinder seal which should still be ok what do you guys think i will up a pic

Ok will fit bk on tomorrow and see how long it lasts hipefully long enough to source a decent head its right on the outer line of seal so its hard to call i could of had it repaired if the guy had just told me argh

Endee up just welding the corrosion on head up and got to get skimmed again the cars been off the road longer than its been on it lol
