Technical New Airbag ECU Programming?

Hi Guys

Bought a brand new airbag ECU, as the heater matrix destroyed the other, plugged it in and airbag light is still on.

Looking on Google, some other vehicle manufacturers need the new airbag ECU to be programmed. Will this be the case with mine, and if so what software do I used and what's the procedure?

OK. To update. Plugged Multiecuscan in, found the new Airbag ECU and viewed the codes. Only one - bad ground.

Cleared it and now there are no fault codes logged BUT the airbag light is now flashing rapidly.

Can't find any reference to that on the internet or in the handbook. Can anyone help before I lose my rag with the thing?!?

I would almost certainly say a new srs module will need programming and unfortunately pretty sure it's only the main dealer kit will do it

I had a feeling that would probably be the case, although when you log in to the Airbag on MULTIECUSCAN, it shows the firmware and programming date in the information.

Think I'll give Fiat a ring then... :/

I'm surprised they never told you that when you ordered it tbh, the amount of stuff we order from main dealers only to be told " it will have to come back to us for programming " it won't says me cause we've got the same kit as you ha !
