Punto (Mk2/2b) my punto sporting

Introduction

thought i would upload some pictures of my car at this early stage of my project.
So far i've fitted an OMP racing backbox (ybracing.com), GSR induction kit (GSR), Carzone rear bumper (Ebay), Abarth roof spoiler (also Ebay),colour coded mirrors and a few cosmetic bits like door sills, aerials, tax discs holder and airfresher (halfords)! lol, also current doing a bit of sound proofing of the boot and under back seats using left over recording studio acoustic boards, see how it works out they were free after all! :)

got planned ... bit of mesh for rear bumper (awaiting delivery... still), need to fit colour coded handles (already painted), tint rear windows (£130 pssc tinting peterborough), abarth front bumper, toyo tr-1 tyres (coming soon - black circles), strut brace front, lowered springs (can't decide which ones on a £200 - 300 budget, probably G-max or PI), finish off with a nice GSR remap and supersprint manifold in around a year or 2, once gained extra cash and Insurance NCB lol.

looks so much better but imo i think the sporting alloys are nicer

:) nah i thought that before i bought the OZ's but i do have them still. Going to respray them in anthracite and use them as winter wheels. but the OZ Racing superleggeras are the best alloys i have ever bought, they seem to handle much better, they are so light is unbelievable, second to none build quality. (but i am biased :rolleyes:lol)

It's looking so much better :D :D
Love it, I reckon your alloys would look nicer in black or anthracite though
Oh de-tango would look better too?

Lol at the colour difference though, must be the camera that was used in the ad. :)

I've actually got a quote to fully strip, bead blast, powder coat and re colour all 4 of my superleggeras, it is £250 plus vat for standand silver, black or white or for £25 more (not each, but in total) antracite or smoked/dark chrome which I might do as I really like the look of smoked chrome,or I will have them done in sparkle silver as a just prefer them in the silver contrast to the car as it seems to show off the detail of the wheels better (do you know what I mean, think I've written that wrong but hey lol). Thewitt had black superleggras and the did look good but I don't know why I still prefered the silver. But I'm a bit odd I guess lol :)

De-tango, well I my plan is to try an get some mk2b rear lights which are obviously detangoed, but I don't think I'm brave enough the cut the front lights apart to de tango lol, plus I don't have a dremel. What about those ultra angel eye front lights in black??? Or do you reckon I should try and get the detango done :)

ordered some little bits today,

>blue alloy oil catch tank = £24
>1/2 metre of stainless steel fuel hose (for the catch tank, as recommended by munkul a while back only just got round to it) = £10
>Black Italian leather hand brake gaiter = £10

Put some Wynns High performance engine treatment and High performance Petrol treatment in the car yesterday running smoother, seems more responsive and a lot less engine noise, lets see if it improves more after a couple of weeks as it has only done around 20miles since putting it in so it early days. worth the few quid they set me back in my opinion.

argggh just wasted £20 on stainless steel braided hose that is crap, i say crap because the actually pipe inside the braiding has no give at all so if its to big it doesnt clamp properly when you tighten a jubilee clip and the 16mm pipe doesnt go over the 16mm reducer on the GSR but it just wont flex enough to get over it, bloody annoying. plus its doesn't bend very well as the hose doesn't give as mention before!!!:bang: think there a lesson to be learnt here everyone lol:rolleyes:

Ended up with some black heater hose for £5 from Wilco motosave should do the trick it can cope with heat and should be able to with stand oil vapour. might try and see if i can get a blue pipe cover to make it look better lol

should be able to fit it tomorrow day off uni(y)

Now i must say you have got a stunner here mate. i love it and it makes me want the abath kit so much more, why are they so hard to find!!!!!!hah. i cannot wait to get some of the mods you have done done to mine :) good job. you should take a drive to castleford this sunday and show it off to us all at xscape ;) (y)(y)

abarth kits are really rare now, and crazy price from fiat. it took my 1.5years of searching to find the front and sides lmao had to settle for a similar style rear bumper lol. Think its all down to luck

Ive got a few things in the bag to get done then im going to some meets and RR days for sure(y) should be cool to put the forum names to faces

yeah absoloutely iv been searching for a while now and nothing. there a few of those carzone kits on ebay which are similar to abarth, but not the actual abarth.
ahh ok well maybe if i go down to any of them il get to meet you and se the car if theyre not too far :)

just a quick update, since doing the catch tank ive spent a lot on getting stuff changed just to be on the safe side really or because i felt like it. then the slave cylinder went lol

so far ive had:

>Cambelt and tensioner
>Waterpump
>Oil flush and new 15W30 oil and new filter (cured the noisy tappets as a result of the garage putting 10w40 oil in :()
>driveshaft seals
>gear oil drained and refilled
>Hydraulics drained
>better Slave cylinder fitted (fiat one was completely plastic and dead, new one is totally metal feels much better, seems to pull better but it might be an illusion)

i also bought some collinite 915 wax and gave my car a good clean, clay, polish and wax. looks amazing now!!!

Ebay? or did you get them direct from fiat? :)

EBay, I did order some from fiat a year back when they arrived they sent the ones for the Left hand drive version :( problem is the holes don't match up with the pedals and drilling would weaken the pedal too much where the hole lined up so don't get the left hand drive ones you can tell if they are left drive ones as the gas pedal cover has a black rubber cover with aluminium surround rh drive one are all aluminium. Keep searching there's none at the moment but check once a week or fortnight :) happy searching.
